Hydrangeas and Crepe Myrtles border the front of my yard. When I moved in, the Crepe Myrtles weren’t there. The reason I planted them where I did is to provide more shade for the hydrangeas. They are still too young, but the idea is to shade the hydrangeas from full sun all day.
Since we’ve moved in, I’ve changed and added so much to our yard and home. I’ve always had a vision of what I wanted my yard to look like, and I work on it every day. I wanted to keep you posted on how things are coming along with our home up here on the mountain. Here are some pictures of where I’m at right now. Still more to do. I’ll be putting in a brick pathway from the carport to the front steps of the porch. Another brick pathway from the carport to our shed. Brick steps going down the hill into our backyard, and finally a brick foundation for around our firepit area that will have chairs and other amenities. Stay with me and you’ll see how this all evolves in future posts.
Steve is refreshing with a new coat of stain on the upper level from sun damage.
My wagon, which changes its decorations for the seasons.

Fresh herbs on my balcony and my two Powder Puff Trees below.
My rustic creek design for our culvert.
The mountain’s water pump station is situated on the easement of our property. I figured since we can see it that I’d make it a little more presentable when you drove by.

It took some time, but we got the shed’s roof color to match the cabin’s roof. Plus my new Barn Quilts!
