Let's Dish With Linda Lou

Where You Taste The Love

Whole Foods, Parmigiano-Reggiano Display

Photo Feb 25, 1 07 55 PM.jpg

I was strolling through the Whole Foods market when this wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano display caught my eye. Oh yeah, the “on-sale” sign too!

Right behind the Parmigiano-Reggiano Display wheel is an enormous wall of cheeses from around the world, I mean that literally! There are cheeses from all over the world, and I’m planning on trying a few of them in the very near future.

The most amazing moment was watching the process of opening an eighty-pound Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese wheel.

It turns out, this is a pretty big undertaking, and definitely takes some time to complete. Once that wheel is cracked open, it’s pretty awesome! I bought myself a couple of big wedges. When I returned home from the store, I placed one in the freezer and one in the frig. I think it’s going to be a pasta night!

There is nothing better than getting up early on a Saturday morning and heading out to the local Farmers’ market. This one is located a little north of the College Park area. They are amazing local farmers and just regular people who make artisanal cheeses, loaves of bread, and other products that are ready and willing to sell their products to the community.

Let me take you on a tour of this fabulous outdoor market, where there’s something for everyone!

Petty’s Meats In Longwood

images (3)

Whenever I’m looking for inspiration, I know exactly where to go, Petty’s Meats. Located at 2141 W State Rd. 434, Longwood, FL. 32779, north of Orlando. They’re open from 10 am-7 pm, Monday- Saturday.

I found some beautiful boneless-skinless chicken and I knew right then I wasn’t leaving the store without them.

I visited their website to post a few pictures to share and much to my surprise they’d posted the dish, I made, using the chicken I’d bought. Check it out!

Petty’s Meat Market offers everything for the “Foodie”. Whether you’re a home cook to a  gourmet chef,  you’ll find it here. All-natural beef and chicken, custom made in sausages, and deli meats, made in-house. They have pork, seafood, desserts, cheeses, sauces, craft beers, and a variety of wines. The knowledgeable staff at Petty’s are ready to help with all your food needs. If you just want to bring home a ready-to-make meal, they will customize one just for you.

To sum up, I’d say that Petty’s Meats is the perfect place for all you Foodies out there! For more information visit their website at http://www.pettysmeats.com.
