Where You Taste The Love

Rain Lilies

I have to say that I made a great choice for planting Rain Lilies. Florida, also known as the Sunshine State, gets its share of rain. During the summer months, these darlings are blooming like crazy.

Summertime In The Garden

2014-06-06-16-55-22

My Agapanthus and Lavender are blooming beautifully. I’m so ready for the foundation to be finished so we can start on our outdoor entertainment area. I have this vision in mind of how everything is going to look, but like everything else, these things take time and money.

Anyway, I thought I’d post a few pics on how the landscaping is going away from the construction area. That area is just a hot mess. You’ll see that I like sectioning off different areas with a variety of trees, shrubs. or flowers. I think it looks, I don’t know, pretty cool.

My cactus garden might very well get out of hand. This one’s growing fast.

Oh!, and we expanded a sitting area in the back part of the yard. We just laid a few more stones for a contrast in color, it needed it.

My Sandbox Herb Garden

Image

Having a herb garden is really rewarding. Unlike my hanging herb garden which is for my slightly more delicate herbs, this sandbox type garden is for the hardier herbs like Rosemary and Italian flat-leaf parsley. They seem to be able to stand up to the elements better.

Chives and tarragon I plant in the spring because they seem to thrive better. They are also a more seasonal herb and usually have to be replanted yearly.

The mint I keep sperate because it grows like crazy and will overtake the whole garden.
