This recipe for Royal Icing is quick and easy to make. Decorating cookies could not be easier!

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Yields: 3 cups (48 servings)
Equipment: 4 disposable piping bags, small whisk, 4 medium mixing bowls, hand-held electric mixer, tall drinking glass, set of measuring spoons
Ingredients:
Original Recipe is (1X):
(1/2x)-( ✓1x)-(2x)
4 cups of confectioners’ (powdered) sugar, sifted
6 tablespoons of water
3 tablespoons of meringue powder
Instructions:
Beat together confectioners’ sugar, water, and meringue powder in a large bowl with an electric mixer until soft peaks form, 7 to 10 minutes. Divide the mixture equally into 4 different mixing bowls. Add your chosen colors to each bowl, starting with 3 drops, more if needed. Whisk together until you achieve the desired color.
Place the piping bag in a drinking glass and secure it by folding the edges around the glass. Add the royal icing to each bag, and remove as much air as possible. I secured my bags using small rubber bands.
There you have it, my Royal Icing.
Notes:
1) Keep the icing covered with plastic wrap, touching the surface of the icing at all times, to prevent it from drying out during use.
2) It’s best to use gel food coloring, which is more concentrated, to avoid thinning the icing too much.
